Joy Ngiaw is a film and TV composer from Malaysia. She is the composer for the highly anticipated adventure trilogy Wondla for Apple TV+, where she collaborates with industry veterans such as John Lasseter (Toy Story) and Bobs Gannaway (Monsters at Work). Her score for Apple TV+ and Skydance's debut animation Blush received numerous accolades, including Best Music from Hollywood Music in Media and a prestigious Annie nomination. She also had the esteemed honor of scoring Skydance Animation's inaugural studio logo, making history as the youngest composer to achieve this significant accomplishment.

Joy is also the composer for the upcoming Mattel animated series Barbie Mysteries: The Great Horse Chase, which will premiere on Netflix in Fall 2024. Among her other credits are Netflix/CBS's TV show Glamorous, Walt Disney Animation Studio's Short Circuit, and Netflix's Rescued by Ruby.

As a pianist and vocalist, Joy frequently records for television and film scores. Her passion for experimenting with a diverse range of tones, textures, and vocal techniques infuses her music with a distinct and innovative touch, incorporating elements such as vocalized breaths, mouth percussion, hums, and nature-inspired sounds within her scores.

In 2022, Joy’s talent was recognized with a nomination for the highly regarded Emerging Talent award by the Society of Composers and Lyricists, establishing her as a distinguished voice among the new generation of film composers. She was also named one of eight composers to participate in the highly competitive NBCUniversal Composers Initiative in 2024.

Graduating summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music, Joy's passion lies in crafting emotionally driven scores for narratives that evoke nostalgia and bridge thought-provoking perspectives. As an executive board member of the Composers Diversity Collective, Joy passionately advocates for diversity and inclusion in the film scoring world, striving to create an industry that welcomes and empowers voices from all backgrounds. Currently based in Los Angeles, she is proudly represented by the esteemed William Morris Endeavor agency.
